Dyson Sphere
Dyson Sphere is a megastructure in Stellaris 4.5.2 built in 6 stages. Must be built in a system with a single star and no habitable planets. It needs the Dyson Sphere technology. All stages take 55 years and 26,000 Unity, 10,000 Alloys (the costs every empire pays). Dyson Sphere produces 4,000 Energy Credits a month.
Where to build a Dyson Sphere
The game's own requirement line, then the conditions of the first stage (possible) and of the planet or star it goes around (placement_rules).
Must be built in a system with a single star and no habitable planets.
- Cannot build around Protostars.
- Must build around a star.
- Cannot build on planets that have unresearched anomalies discovered by us or any other Empire.
- The system has a starbase
- Cannot build outside Empire borders.
- Cannot build more than one Dyson Sphere.
- In order to construct a Dyson Sphere, we must upgrade an existing Dyson Swarm
- Cannot build more than two Dyson Spheres.
- Cannot build in systems that have not been surveyed.
- Cannot construct in the same system as an existing Arc Furnace
- Cannot construct in the same system as an ongoing Arc Furnace construction
- Cannot build in systems with existing colonies
- Requires Aggressive Interference Pre-FTL Interference policy to build in system with Pre-FTL Civilizations
- Cannot build around Black Holes, Neutron Stars or Pulsars.
- Cannot build this in Binary or Trinary systems.
- Cannot build due to existing Megastructure.
Dyson Sphere stages
Cost lines with a condition apply only to the empires it names (bio-ship empires pay food instead of part of the alloys).
How it's counted
Totals in the head count only the costs every empire pays: 26,000 Unity, 10,000 Alloys.
Dyson Sphere Site
The construction site station serves as the base for the future construction of a Dyson Sphere.
Dyson Sphere Frame
The frame is the foundation for the future Dyson Sphere and does not generate any energy.
Dyson Sphere: Initial
A partially operational Dyson Sphere - 25% energy generation efficiency.
Dyson Sphere: Medial
A partially operational Dyson Sphere - 50% energy generation efficiency.
Dyson Sphere: Penultimate
A partially operational Dyson Sphere - 75% energy generation efficiency.
Dyson Sphere
A fully operational Dyson Sphere - 100% energy generation efficiency.
More conditions for this stage
- Cannot destroy one of our Consecrated Worlds.
How to unlock the Dyson Sphere
Who can build it (potential)
- Without: machine age
Other versions of the Dyson Sphere
Ruins the galaxy can start with or a war leaves behind (restoring one is its own chain of stages) and upgrades that branch off the main line.
Ruined Dyson Sphere (permanently ruined)
Ruined Dyson Sphere
A ruined Dyson Sphere, shattered beyond any possible repair.
Ruined Dyson Sphere (ruined)
Ruined Dyson Sphere
A ruined Dyson Sphere. Despite its age, the megastructure's basic frame is largely intact. With the necessary technology and vast amounts of resources, the sphere could potentially be repaired.
Dyson Sphere
A fully operational Dyson Sphere - 100% energy generation efficiency.
Wonder Sphere
It produces no energy. Only beauty.

Dyson Sphere: questions
Where can I build a Dyson Sphere?
Must be built in a system with a single star and no habitable planets. Cannot build around Protostars. Must build around a star. Cannot build on planets that have unresearched anomalies discovered by us or any other Empire.
