Stellaris 4.5.2 tech tree
All 679 technologies of Stellaris 4.5.2 by area and tier: 168 physics, 312 society, 199 engineering. Pick one to light its whole prerequisite path (gold) and everything it leads to (teal). Tiers open after 6 technologies of the tier before; each area offers 3 options at a time.
The tree
Gold: what the picked technology needs. Teal: what it leads to. Purple frame: rare. Numbers are base research cost.
Tech tree: questions
Is the Stellaris tech tree random?
Partly. Prerequisites are fixed (shown here), but which technologies you are offered is drawn: each area shows 3 options at a time, picked by weight from those whose prerequisites you have; scientists' traits, ethics, civics and the tech's own weight modifiers change the odds.
How do tiers unlock?
Tier 1 is open from the start; each later tier opens after you research 6 technologies of the tier before it in the same area (common/technology/tier, Stellaris 4.5.2).
What do the colours mean?
Blue, green and orange are physics, society and engineering, as in the game. A purple frame marks a rare technology. After picking a technology, gold shows what it needs and teal what it leads to.
