Living Standard in the game's words

The encyclopedia entry as the game shows it in its tooltips; underlined words open their own entry or page here.

Living Standards determine the quality of life afforded to different  Pops within an empire, influencing their  Happiness and overall  Political Power. Living Standards are dictated by government Policies and can vary based on Species classification, Ethics, and economic priorities.

Higher living standards require greater resource investment, while lower standards reduce upkeep costs at the expense of  Stability and worker satisfaction. They can be set in the Species View.
