How to get FTL Inhibition

Research in Stellaris is drawn: each area offers 3 cards at a time, weighted by each technology's draw weight (here 85) and its weight modifiers. Tier 2 opens after 6 tier 1 technologies of the same area.

In the game

Gravity well projectors can be used to create localized pockets of space where safe entry into hyperspace is impossible. The immense power requirements and the size of the projectors prohibits their use on anything smaller than a space station.

Console command

Typed in the game's console (the ~ key); achievements are off for that game.

FTL Inhibition: questions

How do I get FTL Inhibition in Stellaris?

Research Hyperspace Travel first; then FTL Inhibition can be drawn as one of the 3 physics research options. It also has conditions (see Requirements on this page).

What does FTL Inhibition do?

It unlocks FTL Inhibitor (ship component).

What is the ID of FTL Inhibition?

The technology's ID is tech_ftl_inhibitor. To get it with the console: research_technology tech_ftl_inhibitor (Stellaris 4.5.2).

How much does FTL Inhibition cost?

2,000 physics research before modifiers. In game the cost grows with empire size (+0.2% per point above the base, common/defines) and the galaxy's tech cost setting.
